About this policy

Home Automations is a private household expense and reimbursement tool built with Google Sheets and Google Apps Script. This policy explains how the automation and this public information website handle data.

Information the automation uses

The automation reads spreadsheet entries containing the purchase date, person, cost, items, reimbursement status and reimbursement date. It also uses three configured household recipient email addresses. It writes notification statuses, including SENT markers, and operational logs used to check and troubleshoot the automation.

How information is used

Information is used to track household purchases and reimbursements, send related email notifications and maintain the automation. An edit trigger runs under the spreadsheet owner’s authorization. The script reads and updates the household spreadsheet and sends messages through MailApp. It does not read inbox messages.

Sharing and recipients

Notification emails contain purchase and reimbursement details and are sent to the configured household recipients. People with spreadsheet access can view records according to the owner’s sharing settings. Google processes information through Sheets, Apps Script and email delivery; recipients’ email providers process their messages.

Google API data

Home Automations does not sell household data or use it for advertising, credit decisions or AI model training. Google API data is used only for the household features described here, consistent with the applicable Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Storage and retention

Household records are stored in Google Sheets; notifications are held in recipient inboxes; operational information may be stored in spreadsheet and Apps Script logs. Household records are not copied into a database on this public website. Spreadsheet records remain until the owner deletes them; the app has no fixed retention period. Log retention depends on its storage location and Google’s settings. Recipients control their email copies. Provider backups or recovery systems may retain deleted information under their own policies.

Your choices and deletion

Contact the household administrator through your existing household communication channel to request correction or deletion of records, or changes to notification recipients. The authorizing owner can remove the app’s access in their Google Account or disable its Apps Script triggers to stop future automated activity. Removing authorization does not delete existing records, logs or previously sent emails. Recipients manage their own email copies.

This public website

This website provides app information. It has no expense submission form, app database or added analytics. Its hosting provider, OpenAI Sites, and hosting infrastructure may process request metadata such as IP address, browser information, requested pages and access times to deliver and protect the website. Provider handling and retention follow their applicable policies.

Security

Google account and spreadsheet permissions managed by the owner control access to household records. Household members should enter only information appropriate for the spreadsheet’s viewers and notification recipients. No online system can guarantee absolute security.

Changes and contact

This policy will be updated if the app’s data practices change. Material changes affecting Google data use will be communicated to affected users and any required consent obtained before the new use begins. For privacy questions or requests, contact the household administrator through your existing household communication channel.
